HubWeek is Boston’s annual review of art, science & technology trends and public initiatives that look to address societal concerns and predict where applied technologies may offer relief to economic and social issues. Throughout the week, speaker sessions and workshops convene on a wide range of topics, and participating organizations and firms demonstrate their applications that seek remedies to questions of health, transportation, global environmental studies, agriculture and sustainable food development and many more areas.

UAS Development, in partnership with PowerDocks LLC, was a participant in the US Navy’s Advanced Naval Technologies Expo during the summer of 2017.
Our in-house systems engineering staff worked with the PowerDocks, an autonomous micro-grid energy solutions provider, to integrate a comprehensive drone landing and charging solution onto their Blue Isles floating solar energy platform. Other systems providers included Wibotic wireless power distribution, and additional surface and sub-surface autonomous vehicle OEMs.
During the August 2017 ANTX demonstrations, hosted at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, at Newport, RI, UAS Development flight crews managed and operated several piloted flights that included UAV systems re-powering via Wibotic’s inductive energy solution.

UAS Development was proud to participate in the 2016 ROBOTICA conference and exhibition hosted by AUVSI New England. Jeff Adams, Co-Founder and President of UASd led a panel discussion on UAV integration into the National Airspace (NAS) with panel members from NASA Langley Research, VOLPE (US DOT) Aviation Traffic Management and CyPhy Works. UASd also participated in the exhibit hall with a display of several current air frames and proposed development information.
ROBOTICA 2016 was held at the Devens Commons Center in Devens, MA, in partnership with MassDevelopment, MassTLC, WPI and numerous other supporters. Jeff Adams, Co-Founder and President of Unmanned Aerial Systems Development, Inc., will be a panelist at the Massachusetts Production Coalition’s 2015 Mass Media Expo. The event will be held on Saturday, September 26th at the studios of WGBH in Boston, MA. Jeff will join a select group of UAV industry professionals to discuss current film & production opportunities for drone operators as well as the outlook for future developments in both technology and regulatory perspectives.
UAS Development is pleased to announce it has successfully petitioned for authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration to commence commercial operations utilizing their fleet of small unmanned multi-rotor vehicles. This authorization along with the FAA issued Certificate of Authorization (COA) will allow UAS Development to conduct controlled close range flight operations and expand its program of research and development with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for industrial and commercial markets.
UAS Development selected representation by Mintz, Levin, P.C. as counsel of record for the creation and submission of the petition. Jonathan Cain of Mintz DC acted as UAS Development’s chief counsel for this petition.
Under the Section 333 exemption authorization granted to the firm, UAS Development will conduct aerial services for a wide range of clients including: film & television production companies, digital mapping and inspection clients, industrial & agricultural services providers, research institutions and avionics & sensor manufacturers.
UAS Development will continue to explore advancements in UAV systems efficiency, operational safety and commercialization through integration of remotely piloted and autonomous aerial systems into diverse applications. UAS Development seeks collaborative research and development programs with engineering and industrial services clients to advance these initiatives.
Earlier this month, UAS Development sent our cinematography support crew out to assist on a spec production that was shot here in Massachusetts. Thank you to Producer Carl A.
